Talk about a blast from the past! Thank you to Sheila Peavey, who sent us this postcard she found in her mother Constance Bonsall Sims’ (1929-2002), belongings. It is from April 1945 and features a picture of Rayne High taken about 5-6 years prior. Our campus has only gotten more beautiful over time! Next time you’re in the front lobby, check out this postcard for yourself along with other relics from our school’s history, such as the first published yearbook (1948), the first letterman jacket awarded (1953), or the original Alma Mater! #RHS #RayneHigh #GeauxWolves #WolfPride #OnceAWolfAlwaysAWolf #WeAreRayneHigh #WolfPrideNeverDies #SupportRHS

We’re continuing our Science Department shout-outs! Some of our Biology I classes participated in a "Biology Fair,ā€ last Wednesday where they had to create a visual representation of their assigned topic for their Ecology Unit. Students were expected to provide enough information to teach the rest of their class on their topic and answer their peers' questions, and they even had a few guests from the staff at RHS to take a look at their hard work! This kind of project challenges students to think critically and creatively, as well as appeal to the visual, kinesthetic and auditory learners. #RHScienceDept #RHS #RayneHigh #GeauxWolves #WolfPride

Mr. Provost's Chemistry class experiments have been on fire lately. No...LITERALLY! Last week, they tested the reactivity of alkali metals as they moved through chemically similar families within the periodic table. Then, they demonstrated a phase transition using water's ability to absorb heat and energy (safely, of course). Our principal Mr. Fontenot even got in on the action! #RHSScienceDept #RHS #RayneHigh #GeauxWolves #WolfPride #SupportRHS
