Our senior, Chance W., and his fishing partner have been having an exciting fishing season this year! šŸŽ£

The duo took 1st place at the Toledo Bend Tournament out of 250 teams with an impressive 24.42 pounds, and they also brought home Big Bass with a catch weighing 7.15 pounds.

They followed that performance with another 1st place finish at the Calcasieu River Tournament out of 180 teams, weighing in at 13.59 pounds.

They have also qualified for the State Championship several times over the past few years and will be heading back again in early May.

Throughout their four years competing in high school bass fishing tournaments, they have consistently finished in the Top 20, with the majority of their finishes landing in the Top 10.

Congratulations to Chance and his teammate on an incredible season so far! We are proud of their hard work and dedication and wish them the best of luck as they compete at the State Championship in May. šŸŗšŸŽ£

We are beyond proud of our students for SURPASSING our February Beanstack Reading Challenge goal of 120,000 minutes! šŸŽ‰šŸ“š

Not only did our students meet the challenge… they went above and beyond by dedicating their time to reading each and every day. Their commitment to growing as readers continues to amaze us!

February’s challenge encouraged students to log their minutes consistently while also exploring books by Black authors, learning about influential leaders, and diving into powerful stories connected to Black History Month. Seeing our students engage with meaningful literature while building strong reading habits has been incredible.

This accomplishment shows what happens when our Wolves set a goal and work together to achieve it! šŸŗšŸ’Ŗ

We are so proud of the momentum we are building through Beanstack and cannot wait to see what our students accomplish next month.

Keep reading, Wolves! šŸ“–āœØ

šŸ“šŸ”Our Honors Geometry students were on the move with a Polygon Angle Scavenger Hunt around the classroom! Students moved around the room solving problems with a variety of polygons and using equations to find missing angle measures. This hands on activity helped strengthen their understanding of interior and exterior angles while keeping them engaged and thinking critically. We love seeing our students learning through movement and problem solving!šŸ§ āœļø

Congratulations to Mr. Adams’ first hour class for logging the most minutes in our January Beanstack Reading ChallengešŸ† As a reward, students were treated to King Cake this morning. šŸŽ‚šŸ’œšŸ’›

We are excited to see which first hour class will take the lead this month. So far, our students have already logged over 22,000 minutes, and we are only 6 days into the challenge. That is an amazing start! ā±ļøšŸ”„

Please continue to encourage your students to read each day. Every minute counts! šŸ“–āœØ

We are also accepting book donations to help grow our library. We are looking for middle school level books, young adult titles, and nonfiction books. Your support helps us expand our collection and better meet our students’ interests and needs through this new reading initiative. Thank you for your continued support of reading at RHS. We truly appreciate it! šŸ’œšŸ’›šŸ“š
